If we consider that another public sector agency (as defined in section 7(1) of the Privacy Act 2020) may be able to assist with, act on, or otherwise progress the idea you raise, we may share your idea with another public sector agency.
Information submitted to the Ministry will be considered official information under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA). The OIA is intended to promote transparency and accountability by giving the public the right to access official information held by, among others, public service agencies (as defined in section 2(1) of the OIA), subject to certain grounds for withholding information where considered appropriate.
Use of Artificial Intelligence
The government may use Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to support our work, in line with the Government Chief Digital Officer’s Responsible AI Guidance for the Public Service: GenAI.
AI (Copilot) may be used to support the government's work by assisting with tasks such as summarising information, drafting content, or improving efficiency, with human oversight and accountability retained at all times. Any content developed using AI tools will be reviewed by government staff to ensure it is accurate.
