Why we collect your personal information

This form requires you to disclose some personal information, including your name, email and phone number.

The Ministry for Regulation may use the personal information you provide to contact you about the regulatory issue you raise. If we consider that another public sector agency (as defined in section 7(1) of the Privacy Act 2020) may be able to assist with, act on, or otherwise progress the issue you raise, we may share your contact details with that public sector agency, but subject to your consent below.  Any sharing of your personal information will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.

Even if you don't consent to us passing on your details to another government agency, we will still look into the regulatory issue you raise.

Information submitted to the Ministry will be considered official information under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA). The OIA is intended to promote transparency and accountability by giving the public the right to access official information held by, among others, public service agencies (as defined in section 2(1) of the OIA), subject to certain grounds for withholding information where considered appropriate.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

The Ministry may use Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to support our work, in line with the Government Chief Digital Officer’s Responsible AI Guidance for the Public Service: GenAI.

AI (Copilot) may be used to support the Ministry’s work by assisting with tasks such as summarising information, drafting content, or improving efficiency, with human oversight and accountability retained at all times. Any content developed using AI tools will be reviewed by Ministry staff to ensure it is accurate.

I consent to the Ministry for Regulation sharing my contact details with another public sector agency (as defined in section 7(1) of the Privacy Act 2020) in relation to the regulatory issue I have raised. I am happy to be contacted by the Ministry for Regulation or another public sector agency, if the public sector agency concerned considers it necessary to do so to assist with, act on, or otherwise progress the regulatory issue I have raised.
